After you have imported a DITA file, you must validate its syntax and make any necessary corrections.
Validating an imported DITA file may require that you update, import, validate, remove, update and re-import a number of times, until all errors are corrected in the file.
-
In the DITA Manager, click the Edit link for the imported file.
The DITA Manager parses the imported file as it opens and reports errors as they are detected.
-
Open the original source file and make the necessary correction.
-
Close the Error message and the hosting window.
Note: Each time you click the Edit link, a new DITA Users Timelines window appears. To avoid having unnecessary duplicate windows open, you should close the windows with error messages that appear as you validate the file.
-
In the DITA Users TimeLines window at Files Root>Users>DITA User Name>dita>ProjectName>Source, select the imported file.
-
In the Files toolbar, click Remove.⊥
-
In the red Delete File toolbar, verify the file name and click Yes.
-
In the Files toolbar, click Upload and re-import the file following the steps in Importing a DITA file into a DITA Project
When all syntax errors have been corrected, the DITA File Manager imports the file. The File Manager alerts you of any unsupported elements and imports the file omitting those elements. You can restore the ommited content to the file by using other block elements that are supported within the Storm editor.
For example, if you had tried to enter a standard un-bulleted, un-numbered list, you can enter those items as a bulleted list or as a series in a paragraph.
