Adding a prolog -- Work in Progress

You can add useful topic-level metadata in the <prolog> element.

The DITA Storm editor allows provides the following default metadata attributes in its Prolog section.

To add prolog metadata:

  1. In the Task line in Outline view, click Add and select Add Prolog from the dropdown list. Below the Short Description element, the DITA Storm editor inserts the <Prolog> element with four default attributes: Author, Source, Publisher, and Critical Dates. You can edit, delete, and add to these attributes.
  2. In the text field for the Author attribute, type the author’s name.

    Note: If there is more than one author, you can insert an additional author element by selecting Add>Split Author or Add Author.
  3. To provide further information about the Author attribute, click Edit. The Author Properties page opens.

  4. Set the Author Properties and click Apply.
    Property name Description
    Href An attribute value that adds a file path and a file name to the topic you are referencing
    Type From the dropdown menu select either Creator or Contributor.
