DITA Users Support Options
We offer multiple kinds of support
We offer a number of tools for members to collaborate with one another and with DITA Mentors to provide mutual support.
- Members can share their workspaces with others to collaborate or to facilitate mentoring.
- Support pages offer threaded comment discussions (members can subscribe to a page to receive notices of changes by email).
- Web presentations that can be driven (slide advance, pause, etc.) by any member attending an online meeting.
- Telephone conference meetings using the free phone bridge at freeconference.com. We can also bridge in a Skype conference call so international attendees can avoid telephone charges.
- Our screen-sharing tools support up to 6 people in a meeting. We are now using the open-source screen sharing tool Real VNC, which allows remote computer access for training at support.ditausers.org. There are also Macintosh versions from Chicken of the VNC. (Downloads below.)
- We have tools for meeting recordings, so we can archive meetings for others to download.
Here are links to the VNC clients and servers for Windows and Macintosh platforms.
